My husband’s post graduate work moved us to Minnesota where I worked as a Curriculum Resource Teacher at a preK-8 school in Minneapolis School District for three years. After a brief move to California, we came to Corvallis in 1997. I’ve been a Reading Teacher at Wilson since 1999, and this year I begin my ninth year as full time Reading Teacher and Literacy Coach. Our two children, Connor a freshman at CV and Bryce a 6th grader at Cheldelin both attended Wilson. In my spare time I enjoy running, cooking, gardening, reading books, and walking my dog, Terra.

I spent several years in the Social Services field working with boys in a residential treatment center and with adults with developmental disabilities. I received my elementary education certification from Cleveland State University in 1999. I enjoyed substitute teaching until my son was born. I then took several years "off" to be a stay-at-home mom and loved every minute of it. In 2007, I returned to subbing and began teaching first grade full time at Wilson the following year. I have been a Wilson parent since 2003 when my daughter Madison started Kindergarten. She moves onto Cheldelin this year and my son Spencer enters fourth grade at Wilson. In my spare time I enjoy swimming, hiking, camping, reading, and doing family stuff.

I spent the last year on leave. I spent my year taking my son to ski races, surfing, and snowboarding. Married to Elise Bradley who teaches at Hoover. Two kids—Makai, age 14, freshman at CHS-- Kaiana, age 11, 6th grade at LP. I’ve taught in Corvallis for 14 years. Bachelor degree from OSU in Civil Engineering. Bachelor degree in Education from Western Oregon. Conservation teacher of the year, 2007, Benton county. Teacher of the year 2007, presented by Oregon Association of Conservation Districts. Both awards were for work done at Inavale and Lincoln taking students into the field to learn by experiencing nature first hand. I enjoy spending time with my family, surfing, and snowboarding.

I have been substitute teaching in Corvallis schools since 1990 and have taught first grade and kindergarten in Corvallis. This is my third year teaching Kindergarten at Wilson. I have also taught kindergarten at Jefferson and Inavale. My husband Clay and I moved to California after graduating from OSU, We moved back to Corvallis in 1977 and have lived here ever since! We are celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary this month and have three children Brian, Aaron, and Carrie. They are all out of college and working! Our son Brian and his wife Erin live in Corvallis and have two children, Brooke and Tyler. We love spending time with them!! We have a dog Molly, a Bichon , who is 9 years old! I love to read, play tennis, go camping, take walks, and love spending time with my family and friends. I can be bribed with Vanilla lattes!! I am in a Book Club, a couples Gourmet Group ( for 24 years!) and am active in my church.

I was born in Medford and moved to Boise, Idaho when I was 12 years old. I returned to Oregon to attend OSU and ended up loving and staying in Corvallis. After working for ten years in the medical field, I changed careers and began teaching in 1990. I have 19 years teaching experience in grades 1-6, the past fifteen at Wilson. My husband, Steve, and I enjoy fly fishing, camping, biking and almost anything keeping us outdoors.

I started my career in education while living in Nevada. After moving to Corvallis, I started working at Wilson Elementary School in 1994. After 8 years at Wilson as a Special Education Assistant and Student Behavior Specialist, I spent 5 years providing district wide Autism Services for the Corvallis School District. I was honored with the Golden Apple Award in 2007. Two years ago, when the Transition Program began at Wilson, I eagerly jumped at the chance to return the classroom at my favorite school in the district. This will be my 3rd year back at Wilson and I love being part of the Wilson Community.
I live with my husband Tim, our 3 dogs (one of every size- a great Dane named Sadie, a Lab mix named Chloe, and a Jack Russell Terrier named Annie), a one- eyed cat named Seymour (See-more..Éget it?), chickens, and pigs on our farm in Philomath Oregon. We have 3 amazing children Andrew 24, Bradley 22, and Caitlin 20. My Mom (Nana) lives in a second home on the property also.
I enjoy going to the beach to look for agates, working around the farm on projects, going to garage sales and thrift shops, friends around the campfire, and photography. Also, I keep myself busy during the summer months with wedding coordination and photography.

I am cutting back to half time this year because I have a very adorable and energetic toddler at home named Colton. I have been married for 8 years to my husband Seth. We are HUGE Beaver fans and I love everything orange and black!! I have a black lab named Tucker who came to school with me for 4 years and worked in the classroom. He loves kids, walking and any delicious treat. I am an avid gardener, love being an auntie, traveling, and hanging out with friends. My weaknesses are mochas, chocolate, and anything OSU!

Russ Harris was raised in Corvallis from the age of four. He attended Corvallis schools K-12. Both undergrad and graduate work were completed at O.S.U. He can now admit to being an O.S.U. football player in the “lean years.” He also admits attending U. of O. for administrative coursework after his M.S. His wife, Jeanette, is also a teacher at Garfield. Oldest daughter, Amy is 26, graduated from Seattle Pacific, now teaching kindergarten in Bend. Becky, 24, graduated from Northern AZ State and is an animal behaviorist at a animal hospital in Flagstaff, AZ. Step-daughters; Maddie is in 8th grade at Franklin and Allie is in 6th grade at Franklin as well.

Eventually I was hired by a former Wilson principal to assist Mary Benson in the reading center. I have 9 years in the district as a reading assistant and special Ed assistant.
I received a BS at Oregon State and lived for a short time in the Bay Area. When my husband was hired at HP we moved back to Corvallis and started our family. For 9 years I had my own chocolate truffle business and many a teacher was the recipient of my wares. I love to garden, read and bike. I do a weekly Coffee Culture run on Wednesday mornings for some of the staff. I wouldn't be offended if anyone wanted to take on that responsibility. My fiancee Steve and I are getting married this year. Steve is a firefighter for the city of Corvallis. We like to spend a lot of our free time with my new puppy Amos. I love to read, run, hike, travel and spend time at the beach.

She is married to Douglas who is a PE/Health teacher at Cheldelin Middle School. They have four grown children all products of Corvallis Schools. They also have nine grandchildren, 5 granddaughters and 4 grandsons. The youngest will be in Kindergarten at Wilson next year! Her youngest child is now working as a financial planner for ING. She has been working in Corvallis schools since 1996. She has worked at Fairplay, Cheldelin, and Mt. View. She and her husband are both actively involved in basketball officiating. She has scheduled officials for the City of Corvallis for over 25 years. After graduating from Western Oregon I began teaching in 1984 (Junior High) in Roseburg. I earned my masters degree in Education from Oregon State (Go Beavs!) in 1990. I came to Corvallis in 2003 after teaching 10 years of Elementary PE in the Lincoln County School district.
My husband George, also an OSU graduate works at NIRSA (National Intramural Recreation Sports Association) in Corvallis as the Technology Director. Our oldest daughter Stacie is a student at PSU studying Languages and Erin our youngest is a student at Philomath High School where she swims and does track.
I spend my spare time following Erin's sports, gardening, running and watching OSU sports (Go Beavs!).

My daughters, Amy and Sarah are in fifth and first grade, respectively, here at Wilson. I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from OSU. Like last year, this year I’ll be doing literacy support and whatever else is needed. In my past life I taught preschool at KinderCare and Little Beavers.
My husband and I have lived in Corvallis for 18 years. Besides our three kids, we also have a dog named Max. In my so-called "spare time" I like to read, scrapbook, and take walks.

Barb was born in the Northwest, but her family relocated to California when she was a young girl. As an adult, she returned to her roots in Oregon where she accepted her first teaching job in. Since that time, she has taught all elementary grades levels, K-5. She is married and has two grown children, both former Wilson Wildcats. Away from school, she enjoys long walks, reading good books, home improvement projects, sharing dinners with family and friends, snow in the winter and camping in the summer.

My school name is Mrs. O……..I have lived in the Midwest, East Coast , California and Corvallis since 1977. I have been an educator for over 40 yrs. having a variety of careers including director in early childhood education, a ten yr. counseling practice, movement education instructor for the elderly at LBCC, Asst. director at OSU crafts center, Para educator in the Corvallis schools for the past 14 yrs. I’ve worked at Harding, Hoover , Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln and Franklin schools. I’ve taught reading and English as a second language for many years and these are my favorite subjects! I have also been a playground assistant for 14 yrs. and enjoy interacting with all of the children and getting to know them….. I am blessed to have a beautiful family. I live with my husband of 40 plus yrs. and our new puppy Max. We have three adult children who are now married and have given us the pleasure of becoming grand parents. My husband and I love being a Grammy and Grandpa with our 3 beautiful grand children…. My favorite things to do are playing with our grand children, vacationing with friends and family, playing with our puppy, painting mandalas, listening to music, gardening, golfing, hiking and river rafting.
This year I will be working at Wilson supporting literacy in the classrooms. I will also be teaching English at Franklin school in the afternoons.
My favorite treat and weakness is Chocolate.
I am looking forward to meeting the Wilson community and helping our students feel successful while they learn.

October 2007 I was hired to fill the vacancy in the office.
I was born and raised in Corvallis, spent 15 years in Washington where my husband,
Harry and I ran a business out of our home. I moved back to Corvallis with my family on January 1, 1999 to start a new adventure in our lives.
We have 4 children in various stages of their lives, working and going to school and having families.
We currently have 3 grandchildren, 3 married daughters and a son at Oregon State. Our family is all near by and we love it!
I enjoy reading, quilting, sewing and family history.
In warmer weather I love to ride my bike in the early morning hours where I can 'feel the breeze'.

After 5 years with the autism program, I decided to move out west for a change of scenery and to further my career. The 2009-2010 school year begins my 3rd year working for the Corvallis School District. This fall I will be joining Portland State University's Administration Program. I am looking forward to being a student again! I tend to take on a lot of tasks so balancing my life is important for my health. I relax by practicing yoga, running, and taking hot baths with a good book. I have been known to be spotted on my red cruiser bike that is perfect for the bike paths of Corvallis!

I received my Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential in California, and began my teaching career in a small school district outside of Yreka, CA. I was there for a short time until I married Bill, my high school sweetheart. We then lived in Ukiah, CA where I taught kindergarten, first, and second grades. After 16 years, Bill’s job took us to Lake Tapps, WA (about 30 minutes south of Seattle) where I taught first grade for 7 years. Bill’s job brought us here to Corvallis, and I taught a first/second grade blend last year, and will be teaching first grade this year. After wanting to do so for 20+ years, I received my Master’s degree this past December. I feel extremely lucky to teach at Wilson, and I just love it here!
Bill and I have two awesome children. Lisa, 21, is a senior at Washington State University majoring in Elementary Education. Scott, 17, is a senior at Crescent Valley. Our family also includes two great cats. Participating in Lisa and Scott’s school and sports activities is truly one of my favorite pastimes, and has kept us very busy over the years. In my spare time, which I hope to have this year, I love to watch sports, take long walks, travel, dine at new restaurants, cross-stitch, snow ski, and mostly just spend time with my family.

This will be my third year at Wilson. I worked for the past two years in the Transition room. This year I will be with a visually impaired child. I'm excited to be learning Braille.
I'm happily married, with two grown children who are 28 and 23. My son has a beautiful little girl who was born on Thanksgiving 2008. She is my first grandchild and I am so excited! My daughter is going to school to be a truck or heavy equipment driver. EEK! Oregon is the seventh state Mrs. Young has lived in! She currently teaches 4th grade at Wilson but has also taught 2nd grade and 8th grade math. Mrs. Young serves as the Wilson TAG (Talented and Gifted) liaison. Her hobbies include traveling, taking pictures, and a variety of crafts. The Youngs are expecting their first child at the end of October.
